Ho Ho!! Christmas 2008

The year 2008 is special as it is our Golden Jubilee Year. And since it is Christmas, to make it more special was the "Ho Ho!! Christmas" Carol Service conducted by our Golden Jubilee Choir on 30th November 2008. On behalf of all the members of our choir we would like to thank all those who helped us in making this evening a grand success. A special thanks to all those who have sponsored this program.

St.Michael's Golden Jubilee Choir

Glory to God !! At last after great efforts put in by our golden jubilee choir on 28th Sept, the outcome was fabulous (except for the PA System, which was a total mess). A special thanks to our dear Charles Stephen anna for training us. We would also like to thank our church secretary and our beloved Rev.G.S.R. Kirubakaran for encouraging us in forming this special choir. We would also like to thank Br. Mohan.C.Lazarus for his excellent comments and word of encouragement towards our choir (specially our Youth). Last but not the least we thank each and every individual who was a part of our choir for their active participation and co-operation towards this event.

Harvest Festival 2008

This year harvest festival was celebrated on 14th Sept in our church. The service started out with a special message given by Rev.E.W.Christopher. Many stalls were on display by various fellowships and families. This year we had both Ice Cream and Fried Rice stall. As we planned we did sell out our ice creams within an hour. Thanks to one and all who helped us. Do continue your good work with us.

Youth Retreat 2008

This year (2008) is special. After a long time we had a youth retreat especially for our church’s youth. It was planned and executed in a very short period. By the grace of God on 29th June, 2008 it all started off well with the morning service conducted by our youth. We had a special message given by a servant of God, followed by our church youth choir, who rocked us with a special song.

After the service we had a tea break, followed by singing session led by the CFC youth choir. Then we had a good message given by our pastor followed by the debate. After a hot chit chat in the debate we went for the lunch. After the lunch we had a small singing session with some peppy numbers. Then we had the singing competition, followed by the bible quiz. At last after the closing prayer and benediction, we all had a group photo with our pastor uncle, aunty and our secretary.

We would like to thank our Lord Jesus Christ for making this retreat a grand success. We would also like to thank our beloved Rev.Kirubakaran for his full support and co-operation given towards this event. We also thank all those who have attended this retreat, and believe that U would continue to do the good work with us in the fellowship.

Brief History of our Church

       It all started as a worship gathering in a school in padi in 28.8.1958 with just five families. Later in 1963 with the Avadi-mission our church became a member of C.S.I Madras diocese. In 1973, with a vision of giving a structural form for our church , a land was bought in Madiyazlagan nagar, Padi. After 2 years, in 1975 the construction work was completed and the church was dedicated by former Bishop of Vellore, Mr.Henry Lazarus as C.S.I. St. Michael’s Church .

     In 1983 , during the 25th anniversary of our church the Parish hall (“Silver Jubilee Hall”) ground floor, was dedicated. In the same year foundation stone for the Pastor’s house was laid inside our own campus and thereby dedicated in 1992 by Bishop Rt.Rev.Azariah.

     Later on, after so many thankful prayers and offerings from our members and many others, our church stands on as a landmark in the padi area as a testimony of God.
